Messenger Contacts

I've just logged onto *Live Messenger* and have discovered i have a new *friend* (aka a contact)... that I have never heard of before... S/he also has a rather unusual name which consists of one letter and two digits..... and appears to be a *non instant messaging contact* .... whatever one of them is ! Can any of you clever folk shed any light on who or what this is ? (There is just a little rectangular shape adjacent to the contact name, not a silhouette of a person's head & neck)
