I received an email earlier saying I had an egreetings card. Stupidly I opened it since a friend had said he was sending me something earlier. My desktop then went bright blue with a message that said "download spyware or virus software now. Spyware detected on your PC" - although it didn't look like a "windows" message. So I downloaded the new copy of Norton that I just happened to have picked up at the weekend. Message has gone, screen still bright blue and despite updating Norton and doing a full scan it can't find anything. Also system is now intolerably slow. Can anyone suggest how I might find said virus and get rid of it please?

Incidentally, I googled it and came up with this link:-
