When you signed up for broadband the company you signed up with (your Internet Service Provider or ISP) will have given you an email address.
They will probably also have sent you details of information like userids and passwords, plus server names and POP3 and SMTP details.
You then need to go into Windows Mail and set up your email system using the details such as userid, password and POP3 and SMTP information.
If you have not got these details you need to go back to your ISP and get them.
Most ISPs have a web site which give you details of how to set up your mail using various emal programs.
For example I am with Virgin and they have a web page to help you set up a Virgin email system with Windows Mail here (yours of course will be different)

btw you dont have to use Windows Mail and your ISPs email details.
You can sign up with either Googlemail or Hotmail and do all your emails via a web browser.
Then you dont need any information like servers, pop3 or anything like that.
Plus you can do your email anywhere in the world where you have access to a web browser.
