I'm trying to put Kaspersky internet security on my desk top but it's saying I have to uninstall AVG8. AVG8 isn't on the list to uninstall and also doesn't come up if I do a search of the computer.

Any ideas??

A quick bit of googling suggests that this free software might do the trick:

(Wherever I've found a forum, where it's been suggested, there's nearly always been a subsequent post saying "Thanks. It did the job". Without those follow-up posts I wouldn't be suggesting that you try it).

Chris
as much as I respect Chris's answers I think the genuine AVG removal tool would be a better one to try

this one

try right clicking on it and select save link as if just clicking on it doesn't work

It saves into downloads, then I click on run...then nothing happens :-(
have you tried to install Kaspersky after run it and it seems to do nothing?

AVG often leaves a registry entry, i had to sort out something similar recently.

Yes, still no luck. When I done a google/yahoo search for poodi's thread it came up with 'search results secured by AVG'

So it's on here somewhere...

Cheers Dabees.

I'll let you all know tomorrow. I'm getting tired now so can't concentrate on the instructions.
Where is says regedit, click start and then run and type in regedit. It did the trick for my friend, best of luck with it. :-)

I'll try that in the morning...thank you :-)
