"my Network Connection is disabled. So, use the Windows uninstaller and get rid of the Cisco program. Unfortunately there was still no internet connection"
Have you actually re-enabled your network adaptor?
Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button Picture > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.
Right click on your network connection and cllick enable (if it's there, if it says disable then it's already enabled)
