Could anyone possibly point me in the right direction of a company who are capable of creating a internet forum from scratch? It will be integrated into an existing web site. I know you can get pre made ones that you can slightly alter but we want to get a team of programmers to make one from scratch. Is it possible?

Not quite sure why you would want one from scratch when there are so many free ones available. Try looking at proboards or phpboards via a search engine.

squarebear thanks. We have already had a look at these but we want something a buit more dynamic. We do have a substantial budget. The main reason we want to start from scratch is we want to completely change the layout and have ideas at how we want it to work. I have approached some web designers and its way out of their depth. But I am struggling to find any programmers.
I would not bother to create from scratch, as it would be a huge product and would need constantly maintenance, giving an ongoing cost.

Most of the pre built forums have plenty of options to change the look and feel.
btw If you DO want to continue with the idea of creating a forum then you need to ask the same question on a specialist forum for web designers.

Asking on a "general" forum like Answerbank is not going to hit the real technical web design community.
I find question a bit strange when you also posted this as well.
