Keyboard not working

On my Desktop computer the keyboard has stopped typing. I have put in new batteries, and the usb is all OK, what can I do to get it back please? Thanks you.
prev I want to withold my telephone number when I dial out
  
next Can I install new MS Word and keep old version as well?

Have you put the Batteries in the right way round ?

Press the connect button on the receiver followed by the one on the bottom of the keyboard.

^^ If that doesn't work, using your mouse can you access Device Manager? Does your keyboard (or an unrecognised device) appear with an exclamation in a yellow triangle beside it?

Have just written an answer and it appear
ed on another thread oops. OK now all sorted but "put the batteries in the right way round" tut, I may be old but am not senile! I was pressing the red buttons but not at the same time, and now all is Ok, many thanks.
