i have tried to download a dvd driver for my laptop,as mine has stopped working,it will not install a new one,any ideas please

You do not need ANY driver for any hardware DVD burner/CDROM/Rw player.

You DO need a software codec or two to play back DVD Video and sound content. Playback may be prevented if DVD software expires, or is removed from a computer (like WINDVD, for instance)
If you just want to play back DVD content .. and video files otherwise play OK .. post back, and I'll post the links to a couple of free codecs to enable playback with Windows Media Player or and popular player. You do NOT have to install other players contrary to poular belief.
