Press Start>Computer>System Properties, then look under the System section, there is a heading called System Type which either states 64-bit, or 32-bit... Only install the correct version for your PC.
I assume that your computer has got 64 bit architecture in its CPU which means that , when used with a 64 bit version of Windows (which you appear to have got), it can handle information more efficiently.

Anyone using a 64 bit CPU should, whenever possible, use the software which is specifically designed for it. So you should be using the 64 bit version of Internet Explorer. However a few web pages might not display properly if they've been designed for the 32 bit version, so it's useful to have the other version available to view them.

However, even though it's still only available as a 32 bit application, most people around here would probably agree that Firefox 4 is vastly better than any version of Internet Explorer.

... and as I mentioned in response to your earlier post, Adobe Flash doesn't work properly in the 64 bot version of Internet Explorer, so you are better off uninstalling that, and sticking with the 32 bit version.
If you have 64 bit Windows 7 you have to download the 64 bit version but you have to use the 32 bit version. What you do is you download it then when you open the start panel you will see two versions shown the 64 bit and below it internet explorer which is the 32 bit drag and drop this icon to your desktop and open it this the one you use. This is the fix from Microsoft as the 64 bit is not stable .
