Re my posting earlier about not being able to download photos onto the computer.  Well today I had had enough and so clicked on HP photos plugged in camera and lo and behold it worked a treat.  I feel such a fool!  Thank you all who helped me esp muskrat26 for cam2pc.but you were all great.

No need to feel silly netibiza as it's generally the supposedly simple things that cause the most problems - and we are  here to help each other. 

I'm truly glad all is well now and no doubt you are knee deep in photos already. :-)
