Ok I got hijacked by the servlnk screen saver program. For some reason Norton won't fix it, I stopped it running and deleted it myself, now I'm getting "windows can;t find....etc etc". So how do I fix this situation? I have googled and ther are plenty of fixes but they all want me ty buy something. Does anyone have a reliable list of intructions to get around the issue? If you can help then you'll understand the question! I hope!

It's a form of Mal-Ware. Try using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, it's free and I foound it eliminated all my problems.

ok I'll try that thanks.
Agree. Malwarebytes should be a standard part of any computer install.

It's often more effective if a scan is run in safe mode as a lot of infections will do their best to stop themselves being detected or removed in normal mode.

OK I ran that it did clear up a lot of crud but I'm still getting the "windows cannot find....." message. Do you think the fact that I deleted it is having some effect?
You will have to give a little more info at this point...

You said "windows can;t find....etc etc"...

what are you trying to do when you get this message, and expanding on "etc etc" would help too

Initial thoughts, it's a file association problem, or you have a registry entry left over trying to run something that malwarebytes deleted.

Chuck, I'm not actually doing anything, every few minutes I get a box come up with the error regardless of what I'm doing:
