Why can't I open hyperlinks on my email

I have created a WORD document which includes links to various other word and excel documents.

When I try to email this to my email (to check / test before I send to any other folk) the hyperlinks won't open.

However I CAN open these directly from the document saved on my hard drive.

What am I doing wrong?

You've probably not got a default browser set.

For most main browsers look on the advanced tab in internet setting s and there is an option to set the browser to default, do that and it should work.

Thanks chuck - your info is always good!

I've tried to do that - but it won't let me set it to default (???) It's a work computer (it is work related what I'm trying to do) and therefore I've rung the IT help desk....AGES ago ...but no reply - hence I'm trying ot work on a soultion myself.

I'd assume as it's a work computer you are using internet explorer??

If so, click on the tools menu, internet options, then click on the programs tab and then click the make default button (sorry about the error in saying advanced tab above)
