hi, all. the cd player on my stereo doesn't work (i'm assuming it may be something to do with the laser) and i was wondering if anyone would know how much it's going to cost to repair. mtia x

If the player is fairly old or well used then the laser lenses could be dirty and clogged up. You can get a disc drive cleaner with tiny brushes on it which will clean them from the Pound shop or other similar places.
This would be a cheaper option which may be all that you need.
Try cleaning laser bulb with methylated spirit. Wrap cotton wool around toothpick, dip in meths (have a sniff....heaven) & wipe bulb.

thanks, peeps. sorry i didn't get back sooner, but i've been working like a donkey! i'll certainly give that a try as it will be cheaper as a first option - it didn't even cross my mind! x
