wet phone...
9 Answers
got my phone wet - not soaked but wetness got inside it. blackberry 8900
now it still comes on, the time changes, it charges and appears to be largely ok, except the keys are unresponsive...
i am trying to connect to the computer to retrieve stuff, but it tries to connect but then wants my password...which i cannot imput...
i have another similar phone (blackberry 8520) that id like to load with all the stuff off this one - any ideas how i can do this? or is it pretty hopeless?
can this be fixed? it seems that most of it is fine, except for the keys - can i just get a new keboard? (not just the plastic front bit)
cheers

However, you remove the battery and sim card.
If the water was dirty or salty, rinse the phone in clean water to remove the salt.
Shake and dab to remove the excess water and then put the damp phone in a jar if dry rice for 24/48 hours which should absorb the remaining water.
Replace the sim card and battery and test.
Fingers crossed, it shuld now be OK.
In the meantime I shall carry on looking for the site.
Best of luck.
