how do you convert a contract phone,to a pay as you go phone.if at all possible. thanks in advance

The mobile phone has nothing to do with the way you are billed. All it does make calls based on the information contained on the sim card. Put in a pay as you go sim card and you will be billed as per pay as you go.

contact your network provider - they can change it and will send you a new sim card.

i did this when i upgraded my handset - they sent me a pay as you go sim card for my old handset, so i could give it to my mum.

If you want to swap over permanently, you will need to cancel the contract with your provider. If it's a 12-month contract, and you've only had it for, say, 7 months, you'll still be expected to pay the remaining 5 months with most companies.
