usb modem

i have posted a few questions about my polish base unit now. (nightmare project)

i reinstalled the OS on XP last night and its working now however it cannot detect the modem.  i got fed up and ordered a usb modem for it online for a tenner of ebay. 

will this be ok ?

If you know the make and model of your modem, you can download the driver for free on www.driverguide.com. You have to sign up, but it free and I have used it several times.
