We have a pc, bought have just recently bought a laptop so that we can lounge around and surf the www in comfort without having to be sat at the pc for hours. The only thing we have noticed though is that it tends to get warm from the fan on the underside, and putting it on a cushion or pillow it seems to be wobbly when you type. My wife can spend 6 hours or more on Ebay at times, and i usually spend a couple hours on it too. Does any one make a kind of small light and comfortable platform to sit this laptop on, bit like a breakfast in bed table or something much more comfy? Does any one have the same problem and how do they rectify it?

You could use a dinner tray.

I use a sort of dinner tray with a cushion built into the bottom of it (it's just bigger than the laptop).  It's very comfortable and there's no heat felt from the laptop.

You really need something hard, like a dinner tray as suggestion, so that air can circulate beneath the laptop.  A cushion or pillow isn't sufficient.

Seeing as you go commando, I'd be a tad wary. Have a look here :

Do NOT place on a cushion as this will block the airflow from the cooling fan and the laptop will overheat.
Consider buying one of these http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Laptop_Cooling.html
I too use a dinner tray with a built in beanbag underneath, they are about 6 from homeware sort of shops.
