Just had phone call from Microsoft Security Center (foreign voice) saying my pc running slow. So, led him up the garden path for a bit then said 'I don't understand why M/S would have any interest in my pc, it's running Linux. How much do you know about Linux?'

Silence from the other end of the phone! Also, silly person left me his phone no on caller id. He may well be getting some spam soon!

I've done that one too (I use linux at home)

I kept them on the phone for about 15min while I played the idiot.

(yes it was playing!)
i have fun with them all the time. time spent on a call to me is time they cant be ripping anyone off.
Why have I never had any of these calls? I feel left out!
Love stringing them along for a while then asking "is that the computer I use in the library then?"
I used to have a business line - only ever used for broadband never for voice calls - so if it rang it had to be a scammer/salesman of some sort.

If I could be bothered (or was bored enough) I had a nice routine which started ...

"Welcome to the ***shire County Council terrorist threat reporting line.

Do not hang up - we have already traced this call and an armed police response unit will be despatched unless you give the agreed code-word"

Scared the **** out of them - and surprisingly enough no-one ever rang twice :)
These scammers must targeting certain areas. I have had two phones calls in the last two weeks. One from Microsoft Security Center (foreign voice) and Government Claims Office. So these scammers are going thought their wish.
Method actor aintcha Chuck?
I don't even bother to talk to them, I just ring off without speaking.

The trouble is I keep getting the calls so perhaps my method doesn't work to get myself removed from the list.
If I get a call from a 'concealed number' or an 08**** number I usually answer it with; 'Who's trying to sell me something this time?'
Most of the time callers hang-up.
The answering something they haven't asked game is fun

I keep getting calls about an accident I had recently (I don't actually recall an accident other than a minor scuffle with a lorry about a year ago which I didn't bother reporting). I have SOOOOO much fun with them..........

Scam call is a big issue for the people, many of them gets con from these types of calls. Call comes from various unregistered call centers. To avoid these kind of calls, try to ignore them them and just report it as a scam so that other users can come to know about fake calls. If one face any problem then call go4customer, a leading call center and always give the genuine reply to their customers.
