On my New comp i have Windows Live Mail, but am finding it hard to add/import contacts from recovered data put into a csv(excel) file. even if thats not possible how do you add a contact because in the "Add Contact" box it only lets me edit those contacts that I have managed to add because they've already sent me an e-mail, hope that makes sense

Clicking 'To import contacts created in another program', here, might also help:

Live Mail imports .csv ok.
It just puts all the contacts i a different folder. You then copy/drag them across into the existing set.
sometimes its due to differences in the .csv formats and header row.

Export some contacts from Live mail as .csv then remove those contacts and copy and paste into the respective columns the contacts on your other .csv file then import that into Live mail.

i have the same problems with Gmail but this method always works
Click on Contacts ...bottom left..then with the top ribbon maximized there is a contacts button extreme left..click that to add a contact....
