Not to sound really daft but i want to move the sky box to another part of the room and the cable from the statellite only goes so far. I've read online that i need a cable extension but it says for sky hd you need a cable with to ends such as this one: Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
but i just want to make 100% sure before i buy!!
thanks in advance x

I say again ... WATCH MY LIPS ..
SKY HD and SKY + need two cables to function as intended.
You can then record one channel while you watch another.
As I said before .. if you just sling an HD box .. OR a SKY+ box on a single cable, you should switch it to 'single feed' mode and it will then function normally .. BUT you will not be able to watch one channel and record another. You will get a 'recording failed' or 'no signal' display on screen.

If you want an extension for a Sky HD OR Sky+ box .. it should be a double (for two cables) for it to be fully functional.
You are just buying an old Sky+ or HD box and connecting it to the old sky cable, aren't you? Then phoning Sky to get the recording functionality switched on. Fair enough .. but both + and HD are more capable than that. All have twin cables (or should have)

That's a Multi-Room Add-ON! ... not a standard HD or + box.
