I am looking at buying a new TV - it's some years since I last bought one and things have moved on somewhat since then! I am looking at a Panasonic one and the offer is for an HDMI cable as well. Do I need this cable? I have Sky + if that makes any difference. Any advice about TVs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Definitely worth getting one, if only to use on a games console!

Don't buy one separately and pay through the nose though, they're cheap as chips on ebay, got mine for a couple of quid. I've seen some in the shops priced at £17.
I've just bought a perfectly good HDMI lead for my PC monitor for less than £10 on Ebay. If they are offering a free lead then accept graciously :)
Don't let them hoodwink you into believing the HDMI cable is worth 30 quid ..
They are a few quid! Not much different to a USB cable.
You only need a HDMI cable to watch High Definition (so no good for just Sky+)

But if you go Sky HD, or have a Blu Ray player or HD console like a PS3 then you need one.

If you dont need it now keep it till you do.
If you need to buy a HDMI Cable then look no further than a firm which advertises within the columns of AB. at less than a fiver each with free delivery:-
