Facebook Access

I tried to access my Facebook account from my brother's computer and was asked to unscramble a couple of words as part of a security check. No problem. However, I was also asked the surname of my firstgrade teacher which I had not supplied previously to Facebook. When I gave the name of that teacher, it was not recognised and access was denied. Is this normal?

I've never encountered that when I've logged on.

Does your brother live far from you, if you try to log on from somewhere different fom your usual location FB will ask questions.

One of my family went to Australia earlir this year and because they normally log on in the UK they were asked all sorts of security questions before they could log on.

Facebook add this security so that if someone steals your userid and password they cant just logon anywhere in the world without knowing some of your security answers.

Could you have logged onto someone with the same name as yourself?

You log on through email address not name.

I have permanent abodes in two different countries and have never had this issue with FB. Indeed, business has taken me from Mexico to Hong Kong and once I log in to FB with my username and password all is well, regardless of where I am.

Spikey perhaps because it is not irregular for you to log on from different places so accepts it.

I am not complaining that Facebook asked security questions. In fact, I welcome it. My problem is that I was asked a question the answer to which I had never given to Facebook so I was bound to fail the security "test"!
