Ignore any advice that person gives you in the future!

Hibernation is for impatient people mainly..... it's OK occasionally but it's far better to restart (i.e. switch off) your computer regularly (in fact you need to for updates every few weeks generally)

I make sure I restart all the servers every month at work even if they don't need it due to updates.
I think it is a personal decision. I rarely reboot unless I have problems or have an update than needs it because I don't wish to wait before use: and anyway things already open remind me what I was doing. That said I can't recall hibernating it either.
I never switch mine off, but going by Chucks opinion I think I will restart at least twice a week in future.
