Yes of course, are you getting a warning sign from your laptop telling you that you may need a new battery ? I laptop though doesnt really last more than 2 hours anyway, so their batteries arent great.
Sorry the make is e-machines from Tesco ... seems OK but doesn't take long before I'm plugging in again. I suppose two hours flies by when you are on AB ! Purple no, I'm not getting a warning sign, so I am probably panicking as usual...
Ive recently bought a new battery for my HP laptop, but i used to get a warning sign to say 'time to replace your battery' and the power wouldnt last more than 30 minutes. I bought mine off play.com, just get the serial number of the actual battery and search for one.
OK, you can certainly replace the battery then, but without a model number (Emachines is just a brand) it's impossible to point you in the right direction....
But unless it has lasted drastically longer in the past then I doubt it really needs replacing, as said earlier, if it's a full sized laptop then 2-3hours isn't far off the mark for constant use on most laptops
What model of computer and battery, I have several unused e machine batteries that I got from PCworld. They bizarrely sold them off very cheaply when they stopped selling the models they fitted, instead of a year later when the originals were packing up. If they are compatible you can have one for the cost of the postage.
Mine now doesnt work at all without the power cable! Apparently, you can type in your laptop make/model in google or amazon and get a replacement for around £15 so not too bad.
Headwreck, thanks I think I've found it there. I had always used the laptop running on the mains, having removed the battery but am passing it to my daughter after my son bought me a new DEL.
