Sky+HD Boxes

Hello,If you buy a Sky+HD Box from Ebay can you just Plug and Play by replacing your Sky+ Box with it? I am asking as I haven't a clue about the Viewing Card situation.I have the Dual LNB,by the way?. Many Thanks for any replies.

I assume it will work OK, but dont you have to phone SKY to tell them you have a HD box for them to upgrade your card via a signal for you to receive HD.
If you could receive SKY HD by just changing the box everyone would be doing it

You need to call Sky to 'pair' your card with the box - you will only get HD if you pay the extra tenner a month (although there are some good deals around for existing customers - I got 25% off my entire package and 50% off the HD sub, just threaten to leave ...)

Forgot to say I already have Sky HD in Living Room,New Box would be for Bedroom to replace Sky+ only.I also have Multi-Room but Sky want £199 for 2nd Box.

That should be OK then - when you have the box connected up just ring Sky to 'pair' your bedroom card with the new box.
