SKY Remote problem

Up to last night my SKY remote worked the TV no problem. Now it doesn't! When I try to 'mute' or change channel or something, the light on the TV works (to show its receiving the signal) but it doesn't do anything. I've tried putting the code for the tv into the remote again, but thats made no difference. Any ideas?

We had the same problem twice. We dropped it too many times. One doesnt work at all, and one only some buttons work. We had to buy a new one. Does yours still work with Sky digibox? Have u check the batteries?

Does the original TV remote still operate the TV as expected? (clutching at straws here!)

With regard to SKY remotes, I had one that 'played up', dodgy buttons etc. and so I bought a cheap replacement on ebay before stripping down the faulty one; the accumulated grime inside was quite disgusting, but once cleaned the old one operated perfectly and is now used in a second room.

SKY remote still works the digibox and the TV remote still works the tv. The oddest thing to me is that the stanby light on the tv flickers when you press the sky remote (to show its receiving the signal) but it just doesn't actually do anything to the tv. Also, the sky remote has lost all its tv functions in one go. It used to work, then it didn't. Thats why I thought of the tv code, but its not that. Very odd!

have you tried switching sky box off at plug for about 1 minute ?.this normally resets everything

dosset, that would not alter the remote in any way.
