I am asking for help and advice from any teachers or mums who have been in a similar situation.
my 6 year old has 2 teachers who are job sharing.
teacher 1 told my child on her last reading assessment that she will be moving up to the next level. the other day when they were changing their reading books, my child told teacher 2 that this was the case. Having consulted a list the teacher came back and said " I don't like children who don't tell the truth!"
Now my question is this:
As I find what was said by teacher 2 unnecessary and totally unacceptable, who should i approach to discuss this with?
Should it be a matter for the teachers or a matter for the head teacher.
Thank you for reading and for your replies

my main reason for asking on here is because i obviously don't want to make any ripple effect for my child, who will still have to endure being in that class until the end of the school year.
factor30 - no they did not move my child to the next level (because they thought my child was "not telling the truth" and asi and 2sp interpreted as lying)
in the beginning i supported the fact that we had 2 teachers, as being a mother myself, understand that they might want to spend as much time as they can with their own little ones. now that this has happened, as a direct result of there being 2 teachers, i don't feel as supportive.

They need to know that this has happened so they can try to prevent it. I always prefer to deal with the people concerned first of all in most cases and then only escalate it if it the problem arises again. As a teacher I prefer parents to come to me rather than go direct to the head on things I feel i could deal with. And as a parent I wanted to be able to discuss issues with my children's teachers directly. But it's your call and if you feel the head needs to know then let him/her know.
I think job share can work and although there are some drawbacks there can also be advantages- it may make the week more interesting or they may have different skills they can focus on.

As with factor 30. However, in letting both teachers know that this has happened and that you. as one of their supporters, feel aggrieved at sproglet being dealt with thusly, you need to remember that to save face one or other or both may lie. It never happened. Sproglet got wrong idea. If you have anyhting written down that says she should move to next level, worth taking along and showing them.
In mitigation, perhaps T2 said her piece jokingly and did not think of its impact. Also, have other kids been mithering to go up a level and have these little rotters told porkies / attempted the good old game of playing off Miss1 against Miss2? If so, while your child is not telling whoppers, it's difficult in the thick of it to tell one from t'other.

It sounds like Teacher 1 was talikng in the future tense and hadn't actually entered the actual move in the reading records. She may have intended to move your child up the next time he/she read to that teacher.
I'm assuming they keep such records for each child. When I was teaching Primary Children, I kept a record for each child.
The words Teacher2 used were wholly unacceptable though.
