1st) Are you saying you want an extra email address from your own ISP provider? Most ISP providers offer more than one email address. I use Virgin cable and they offer up to 5 free email accounts only one of which has to be your actual name. At the moment I'm using 3, one for 'er indoors, two for me. One of mine bears absolutely no relation to my name and is not gender...

don't all rush at once x x
To answer your second question, em, no there is nothing to download. Just give the small USB plug a couple of minutes in the port and it'll download all the data it needs to work properly.

You may want to consider using rechargable batteries with it, because it'll eat normal ones quite quickly.
I prefer gmail to hotmail, but to open a hotmail account register here:

You should have no problem with a wireless mouse if you buy a good brand like Logitech.
Question Author
hc, what's the difference in gmail or hotmail, ?
Question Author
can you use it with any computer? are the cheaper brands different of just not worth it
em, the wireless mouse is more or less plug and go, I have had logitech and technika and found no difference in the way they perform. Judge Nutmeg does have a good point about the batteries.
It's just personal preference re gmail/hotmail.

I have my GMail account set up so that it also fetches emails from my other accounts such as blueyonder and I have a GMail app on my smartphone. It suits me.

Re the mouse - I think big names like Logitech are more likely to work as they should. Mine works with XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8. Having said that I have a very cheap one that I use with my netbook and it works just fine. That is a Tesco non-brand.
As already said, you will need rechargeable batteries.

thanks for the help guys.
1st) Are you saying you want an extra email address from your own ISP provider?
Most ISP providers offer more than one email address. I use Virgin cable and they offer up to 5 free email accounts only one of which has to be your actual name. At the moment I'm using 3, one for 'er indoors, two for me. One of mine bears absolutely no relation to my name and is not gender specific. You can basically use any combination of letters and numbers, provided no one else has thought of it first.

If your talking about webmail, ie Google, Yahoo, Hotmail you can pick any letter/number combination you like provided no one else has got it.

2) Nearly all the wireless mice I've seen are USB plug and play. The USB thingy (wireless transmitter/receiver) is plugged in and Windows will find and install the drivers for you. Possibly if your installing a gaming mouse you can d/l additional software from the makers to tweak the settings.

Havw a look in Tesco's etc as they often sell them off at good. Picked up a Microsoft one for my laptop couple of weeks ago for about £8.
Question Author
sounds good, will have a look around.
em, I think Tesco are selling Technika mouse's cheap at the moment.
Go for logitec, em and I hope your health is improving xx

I have the above mouse and have not had the need to change the batteries yet (several months) and the PC is on from 6.30 am to past midnight every single day.
Question Author
daffy, thanks, what is the difference in laser, ordinary mouse?
Question Author
what, how many batteries do they need.
Re the mouse:
I have a Logitech one but have also used a couple of cheaper ones. The batteries lasted about three times as long in the Logitech mouse.
Question Author
gen is the one you have laser? i really don't know much about this or the difference.
Laser/optical mouse is pretty much the same thing, they use a light rather than the ball that used to be in old fashioned mouse(s?). Mine takes 2 AA batteries.
