How can I stop the speaking ads,please? Had them before then they stopped for quite a long time.Now they've started again and they're so loud-my OH hates them!

They really annoy me too. I don't want to mute my laptop as I like listening to the radio or music while I'm on here. But I know ads help pay for the site so maybe Ed can't afford to be picky about which are included.

There is an answer to that but I`d better not say it..
I have had emails from my service provider over the last couple of months telling me that I`m getting close to my download allowance. I was thinking that`s probably a lot to do with all the adverts that are on various websites.

Install a Firefox browser. Then download and install the add-on ADBLOCK Plus for Firefox which will enable you to set various preferences to block all those annoying Ads! Works great for me!

Such posts are usually removed , pinky as the site relies on ads and would be badly hit if too many people use adblocker. I wouldn't mind the ads if they were silent but am getting fed up of them- not just on here but on other sites too

You shouldn't ad block on AB.even if you do use an add blocking prog you should disable it on this site if you enjoy being part of the AB community!

That said talking ads are terrible, though I haven't noticed ant recently here

Thank God the iPad doesn't like Flash, I don't get any noisy adds at all.

I muted my lappy about an hour ago, Gavistron was especially annoying, no contact needed with the cursor, just started shouting the second it came up :o(

Thank you all for your replies. Like factor30 I don't mind ads at all but the talking ones are so intrusive,some more so than others.
