The above has been perfect until I unplugged the scart lead for a few minutes this morning.
Now if I press record the Humax shows that it is recording and sounds as if it is, but it isn't. Nothing shows on the Menu. If I press stop recording it asks me if I want to stop recording Graham Norton or Only Connect, neither of which is on now. So the Humax thinks it is about 8.30 on Monday for Only Connect and it also thinks it's Friday night about 11 ish.
I have reinstalled factory settings.
The Humax Support Team have no idea..........anyone here know what else I can try? Thank you.

If not already, try a total power off and remove any power cables, then retry.

Or, you could check for the latest Humax firmware for your unit and try doing a firmware upgrade. The Humax support site is the place to check for firmware, plus instructions.

Thank you Pinky. If I do a firmware upgrade do I lose what I haven't watched yet?
Please be prepared for pretty dense questions. :-)
I would think not. I would more likely suspect a factory could do something like that but it may not be the case.

Info for firmware updates can be found here:
http://www.humaxdigital.com/uk/support/downloadcenter_model.aspx?category_seq=56

It also states:
Note: No recorded programmes will be removed when you do a Default Setting however your schedules, favourites list, and menu settings will revert back the default values.
I don't know but it sounds strange to me the unplugging and replugging a scart lead would cause this issue.

One hopes it is a setting issue rather than something physical. Does the settings screen give sufficient options for you to correct them by hand ? Starting with date/time ?

PS you have tried turning it off, waiting for a whle, then rebooting it, have you ?

Thank you. As an experiment I set it to start recording the news at one. It did , it shows on the menu and plays. I then switched to BBC2 and pressed record...it said it was recording...it wasn't. I pressed stop and it deleted Great Houses...which I had recorded. I swear it has a mind of it's own.

Hi OG...the scart lead should have nothing to do with this I know. Just a coincidence I guess. I have had half an hour with the support people switching and checking everything....they are as puzzled as I am. I will unplug everything for an hour and see what happens....thanks.
Another thought if the problem persists, it is just possible that the Hard Disk Drive in the unit is nearing its end of life. I had a similar problem in the past with Sky+ boxes that had the same symptoms as you are experiencing. Had to replace the dive in the end.

There are some windows based programs available for PC that will enable access to the PV-9200T unit to enable copying / backup of recordings etc in the event of having to replace a Hard Disk.

Take a look at: http://humaxdisk.wikispaces.com/HumaxRW
Might be worth using this to check / see if the disk iresonds and s readable ok.

You could be right Pinky...the box is at least seven years old.

When I switched back on it was recording Graham Norton five times. Lord knows how. It wouldn't let me stop recording or delete so I unplugged everything I could again and left it. Switched back on and now it seems to be working fine.

Thank you all for your help. x
Great gness.
