Hi all, I have just bought a used 6th generation ipod nano, to use in my car. I need to get a connection cable, but I have seen ones that plug into the nano's headphone socket, and others for its charging socket, which ones should I use?

Of course, that should say, ipod NANO, not 'Ana', lol, cold fingers here!
Depends on what radio you have fitted. There are radios specially made for iPods which have a lead to the base of the Nano, these play music and charge the battery simultaneously. If your radio has an earphone jack and a auxiliary setting on the radio you will then need to buy the connecting cable with a male jack at either end.

Thanks for that answer, the car has a standard 3.5mm aux in jack socket in the glovebox. Its the other end I am wondering about, whether to plug into the nano's headphone socket, or its docking port on the bottom.
