My internet browser has always been Google. Recently,every time I open the internet my browser is different (a magnifying glass next to a square).I have to keep changing my homepage back to Google every day.I have entered Google in the search bar at the top of the page,but it always reverts back to this other homepage.I'm not sure how to resolve this situation. Also,I find websites where I need a password do not remember me even when I tick the box to be remembered on my ccomputer.

When you say 'internet browser' do you mean the browser ( Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer etc) or do you mean the search tool (Google, Bing lycos etc)?
Your browser should have a settings page. On this you can set the default search engine- set it back to google.com or whatever you want. There will also be a setting for pages that open automatically when you open your browser- you need to remove the one you don't won't.
Try this then log out and log back in.

Your internet browser has never 'been Google' because Google isn't a browser; it's a search engine.

Your browser is probably Internet Explorer (because that's the rubbish that Microsoft tries to give you by default) or it might be Firefox or Chrome (because they're the most popular alternatives). Within that browser you can set your choice of homepage (which you seem to want to be Google's search engine).

You state that you keep changing your homepage back to Google, so I assume that you're doing the following. (If not, try it!):
Go to Google:
http://www.google.co.uk/
Then go to Tools > Internet Options > General.
Select the 'Use current page' option for your home page.
Click 'Apply' (Perhaps that the bit you've not been doing?)

(The instructions above are for Internet Explorer. Other browsers are usually similar).

If you've correctly been resetting your home page, but it keeps changing, that suggest that your browser has been hijacked by malware. Download, install and run the free version Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to identify and fix the problem:

(NB: When installing that program you'll be offered the chance to accept a free trial of the 'PRO' version. Click to remove the tick alongside that option before proceeding).

Also run a full scan with your antivirus software.

Moving on to your other problem:
Websites remember you by placing cookies onto your PC, so that you're recognised on your next visit. Since that's not happening, one of the following must be true:
1. Your internet security settings are too high. (In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security to change them); or
2. Websites are advising you that they use cookies but you're clicking on the option to reject them. (Don't!) ; or
3. Your browser, or another security program, is deleting your cookies at the end of each session. (Look for whatever it is that might be doing this).

Thank you for your replies.Yes Google is my chosen search engine.I have been to Internet Options many times but changing back to Google and clicking apply lasts only for a short timeI never heard of malware,but it could be worth investigating. I have printed your reply for easy reference and will get my husband or daughter to deal with the other problem as they are better at dealing with computers than me when it comes to anything technical

You should install google chrome and set it your default browser because google.com is not a browser, it is a search page definitely while doing some settings you have clicked on some option due to which google is not coming as a default page on your existing browser. So the best option to overcome this situation is to download google chrome a new browser and then you will set is a s default then google will be always your home page.
