I have recently reinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Before this reinstall I was happily running IE7 but I now appear to be stuck with the "improved" IE9.
Actually, I much prefer Google Chrome and I invariably use this but my wife, having been brought up on IE, would like things to be as they were before my recent reinstall.
Any advice on how to do it please?
If you right click on the very top of the browser window you can select options like "menu bar" and "show tabs on a separate row" which will make IE9 look more "normal".
She will soon get used to IE9, it is not that different if I remember rightly.
Vista ships with IE7, so at a guess, you've just been automatically upgraded to IE9 during the install process (there's a question during the Vista Installation that asks if you want to get updates on line). If that's the case, simply going to Control Panel/Programs and Features and uninstalling IE9 should return you to IE7.
Many thanks, Rojash. Your sound advice has restored (at least some) domestic harmony.
I take your point - and VHG's - point about IE9 - but I still hope to wean Mrs ZZ off IE and on to Chrome at some stage.
Thanks again.
