Itune Download Problem

Hi, before I start I need answers in plain speak please, I'm a bit of a technophobe.
I had to uninstall my itunes and reinstall it due to doing something stupid. I tried to install the version 9 again which i think I had before but it wouldn't seem to allow me to. I then installed the new version 11. I have now clicked on the icon on my desktop and it says it won't let me go into the library now as I've installed a newer version of itunes. Is there anything I can do to get back to where I was before I uninstalled it without b....ing up everything else? and if I can't how do I actually get into itunes now???

have downloaded version 9 and it's still saying that it's a newer version, do I have to keep going until I find the one I installed do you think? really really losing will to live now.
