Burning A Cd
101 Answers
Some years ago I was able to burn CDs galore but have lost the gift.
There is a gentleman who is with me in the music class and he has never heard of Any Dream will Do so therefore finds it difficult to pick up the rhythm - he has trying to play for 3 years. I don't think he can afford to buy the CD when he only wants one song.
I would like to burn one for him - anybody tell me from the start again. Thanks

Thanks HC. Yes, that's the one, it does have a DVD drive. In fact I made a back-up copy of the operating system using the DVD drive as recommended. Appeared to go well on all six discs.
But for some reason I have started getting an error message about backing it up...a little flag telling me I have an important message. I don't understand the message...I think I need to get the computer man in again. :o(

After putting a blank DVD into the drive, I get the following:
"Windows backup did not complete successfully".
I can't understand this because when I did the backup copy, several weeks ago, it said it had been successful.
Anyhoo, I then get the following options on the screen:
Burn file to disc
Burn a DVD video disc
Burn data to CD/DVD
Create disc or edit image
I have no clue as to which applies to me. :o(

Firstly you are not buying a cd from Amazon, you are buying a single mp3 which will be a digital download to your pc.
What operating system are you using? If it is Windows, open Windows Media Player and import all your tracks in to that. If you have only one track, that is the only one that will show up.
Have you ripped your cds to your pc?

my God 4360 - haven't a baldy what you are talking about - Although I have great help but no success here - all I get when I go into various sites is talk about MP3 - God what is that. copy onto MP3 - don't have one whatever it is. Please bring limewire back - It think 4360 you may have to give up on me - thanks again for your patience again.
An mp3 is a digital single. It is stored on your hard drive or mp3 player (such as an iPod) so you no longer need to fill your house with singles and albums.
You can buy mp3 music as singles or albums, in which case the album will hold several mp3 tracks.
If you already have cds, you can put them in your cd drive on your pc or laptop and copy (rip) them to your hard drive as mp3 tracks. Then you can listen to them on your pc or copy them to your mp3 player.
All these mp3 tracks will be gathered together in your music library - Windows Media Player.
When you downloaded (illegally) from LimeWire you were downloading mp3 tracks. It is exactly the same downloading from Amazon, except it is legal and guaranteed virus free.

4361 Believe it or not got cd burner for the want of a better word on windows media player - run the cd burn and finished - so the "burner" is on my desktop - clicked here and there and got on to track page and another page asking who is the singer - the album blah blah - at the album I put Any Dream Will Do - but it did not go anywhere - tried to copy and paste onto CD burner but no good - got onto another probably the playlist but it said there are no songs here - hope this helps you - maybe since I have got so far you could tell me where I have gone wrong here.
Connemara, type the name of the track you want into google. It will come up with a number of options, amongst them you will almost certainly find one that invites you to download it. Click to download and it will then be stored on your PC.
Go to whatever tool your are using to burn Windows Media I think you are using. When that is open you will have the option to select what you wish to burn, select the file you have just downloaded and follow the instructions.

Eccles by the way I did google the song and my god there were so many options - you see I know nothing about Ipod Ipads, MP3 only this old fashioned computer - maybe I should think about taking advanced computer lessons because whilst I pay money for using the computer I am not utilising enough cos I don't know how.
HC4361 has been giving you very good advice, although perhaps using slightly more technical speak than you are comfortable with.
It is very, very easy to download a file and for music is particularly easy if you already have an Amazon account. Given that many people have bought from Amazon it is not unreasonable to assume that you have an account.
Once you have downloaded the file it is just a question of finding the programme per-existing on your PC or downloading one and then following the very straight forward instructions.
I'm sorry if the advice you have received has given you 'brain burn' but you are throne that wants to create 'the bloody CD'!
