Call up Google and reset it by clicking on make this my homepage, usually at the top right of the page
Open explorer and go to "tools/ options". You should be able to set your homepage in there. Probably under "general".
I assume you mean Internet Explorer 9?
Start IE9 up and go to the page you want as a 'home page'.
Then click on Tools/Internet Options and set your homepage there.

To change your desktop right click in an empty and choose 'personalise'

ok folks, i am going to try all u have said, but,.....havw still not told me how to get rid of msn, what is that, i hate it
If you mean MSN toolbar, go into "view/ toolbars" and un-tick the toolbar you don't want to see.
Ah, I think I see.
Open Explorer and click "tools" at the top. Go to "internet options".
Open the general tab and delete what's in your homepage box.
Now, type into the box "google.co.uk". At the bottom, click "apply" and you should have it.

ok, graham, i am going to sign out, and try what u have suggested,,if it works, u will have made my birthday complete....all of this computer confuses me, but i hate remarks that comes such as "duh", I still think I am above average intelligence, except with the computer.
The 'duh' was because I, repeat 'I' stupidly left out a word in my previous answer, no comment was made or intended on your lack of ability or intelligence.

However, I might add it does help if you read the posts and apply a little logic.
Type google.co.uk in the address bar and hit enter
Click tools/Internet Options
On the General tab click the button "Use current"
Click OK
