I've deleted some apps and want to move the others so there are no gaps. I can move them around the page they're on but not to the previous page. On my phone I just hold the app to the edge and it goes to the page but it won't do that on here. What am I doing wrong? I can't stand the gaps!

I shuffle mine when its connected to itunes. You can get them from page to page on the ipad but its hit and miss.
You do it the same on your ipad as on your phone, just takes a bit of practice. I got a 12 year old to show me how.
You have to take the icon to the bottom of the screen then go to the page you want to put it on and move it into position. The bottom row of icons stay still when you change pages.
Hope that makes sense.
Should work exactly the same on the iPad as the iPhone, mine does, it is, however, easier to do it in iTunes when the iPad is attached.

I've never connected it to iTunes via a pc.

It's ridiculously hard Sher! I've been trying for 30 mins!
Hold down the app and drag to where you want it.
I've just moved an app on my ipad (as a test) and it worked lovely. Make the apps go wobbly (with the little crosses in the top left hand corner), move it to the left hand side of the screen and then it swishes away (will have to move mine back now as it will do my head in as it's in the wring place now).
If you don't back up via iTunes when your iPad crashes (as it almost certainly will) you'll have to download everything again.

Ah, finally! Done it! Thanks all.

I was doing it right initially, it just wasn't moving to the page. It is now.
Success! How satisfying is that?
Thinking about it, have you got a case on it, much harder to drag them off the edge if you've got a case on

Fitzer, everything backs up to icloud. Works perfectly.

Sooooo much better!

It does have a case on it but it only clips in at the corners. Nowhere near the screen surface.
