My silvercrest sat nav sold by Lidl stopped working a few years ago Error message centralAP,exe. I have just cove across the box containing all the other leads and cd. can anyone explain if its possible to get it working now that I have these parts

Perhaps it needs upgrading with the most recent maps? Why not Google the make and model number and see if upgrade is available, and you are able to download the upgrade?
You can but try. If it is complaining of a problem with an .exe file it sounds like you need the ability to reinstall the software. Is that something you can do from the CD ?

Now you have the leads and Cd, you should be able to find out what the error message means, then, maybe you can fix it.
I possibly have the same model, have you tried pressing the reset button, this overcomes the 'fatal error' syndrome (no-one dead yet).

A quick google suggests these are or were made by Binatone, who are not the highest quality of equipment.

Even if you got it going, the maps will be out of date.

I would consider investing in a decent Tom Tom or Garmin.

Tried the CD, it does not load, probably because my laptop is on a newer version of windows?
