Two friends of mine have Skype ie IPad - now I downloaded skype onto my desktop monitor.

What do I do next to contact friend. Thanks for advice.

Find out their Skype name, do a search for the name and send them a request - they have to agree for you to contact them.

Open Skype, create an account (should be a register/create account option), tell your friend your Skype ID, get their ID and add it as a contact and click 'call'. Skype to Skype calls are free, Skype to phone require you to buy credit.

In the top left of the screen there is a search box - you have to find them in there first using their skype name or email address.
Then click the 'Add to contacts' button on the top right of the skype screen.
It automatically comes up with a box saying 'I would like to add you as a skype contact' and allows you to send it. You cant contact them via skype until they agree.
No phone needed if you use the speakers and microphone on your computer.
You can test these by clciking the 'Echo / sound service in the contacts list on the left.

1. Open Skype & enter your ID
2.Make contact by landline & exchange IDs
3.enter recipient ID & Skype will search/ring them
4.Ding is heard when you accept recipient connection
5.Get your teeth in before opening camera icon ;)
