Can I ask A-bers for their personal recommendations, please?
Kindle or other thing? Pros and cons?
I'm likely just to be reading novels, but it will need to be able to store a good dozen or so since I can easily read a book in a day. I want it to be easy to download too and not cost a fortune.
I'm talking about all books, dot. Whole series of popular authors such as James Patterson, Lee Childs, Maeve Binchy, Bernard Cornwell, Patricia Cornwell.......
if you can't see what you want, ask and you shall receive
I've just downloaded 2 Richard Castle books to my Kobo Arc and they were 53p each, they would have been 7.99 at work (though I get 30% discount) but we don;t stock them and so i would have had to order them in anyway.
Well I just looked on our public library and they have 1200 books to download. All I need to do is renew my membership.
I'm looking at freebies at the moment..........(free books is always good in my view). I've got googleplay on my phone, but my battery last about 10 minutes so that's no good.
Baby Sham, from my own council's public library - the one you walk in to and borrow books. The loan ebooks too.
You can register with any neighbouring council online. If you want to register with a library that is too far away you usually have to do it in person.
I am registered with 5 councils public libraries - three books each at a time, maximum of 21 days, minimum 1 day, no early returns (no fines for late returns!)
Sorry if that was a dumb question. I'm on the North Somerset Council website, and on the 'libraries' section, but can't seem to find anything about e-books??
