I have just downloaded Malwarebytes, I then tried to use Google but I had a message saying 'Problem with this website's security certificate ...'. What dumb thing have I done? I have Windows 7 if it makes any difference.

Go back in to IE, click the cog top right of the screen, then 'internet options'. Click the 'advanced' tab in the box that pops up and then click the Reset button at the bottom - 'reset to default position'. Close IE then re open

I tried doing a scan with malwarebytes and had to restart computer, when I tried to log back in I can't. I now get a message 'proxy server isn't responding' and 'the remote device won't accept the connection'. I'm using my tablet for this. I haven't a clue what to do.
Have you tried starting in safe mode?
Can you clarify - do you mean you can't log in to the pc at all at start up, or you can't log in to AnswerBank?

How do I start in safe mode? Is the problem something to do with the firewall?
