Remote Controlled Sockets

I've just bought some Remote Controlled (three pin) Sockets. Quite amazing to be able to sit in my arm chair and switch lights and heaters on and off in another room without having to get up and go there, or get down on the floor to reach a switch. I guess other Abers have similar gadgets but, as a matter of interest and safety, how do you leave yours at night? Do you just switch off by the remote control, or use the main switch on the wall? I've no reason to think they are not safe but it would be reassuring to have an expert's point of view.

I have one which turns off the tv as the plug socket is down by the side of the unit. It's great, don't have to bend to get to it any more. I've never had an issue with it.

My friend has a remote controlled bath - he baths every morning and runs it from the comfort of his bed whilst drinking tea made by his TeasMaid. No joke.

I bought mine in a pack of 3 sockets with on remote control from http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/

With mine the remote has 4 options - turn any socket off (A, B or C) and there is a button to switch all off (and on again, obviously)

How lazy can one be, though? I brush my teeth and so on whilst the bath is running.

Mmmmm, lazy maybe !, still a good idea though I think. When the water gets to the required level does it switch it self off ?.

A lot of interest here and thank you for your replies. There are many internet references to these gadgets and some pictures are better than others - have a look at 'Amazon remote control sockets'. As mentioned in my earlier comments I'd be interested to know what you do about switching them off at night with safety in mind - just switch off by the remote control or do you use the main switch on the wall?
