Nexus 7 Running Slow

Can anyone help?!! Please.
My Nexus 7 (2013 version) is running slow after an Android 4.4 update.
This seems to be a common problem but I have as yet to find a solution!!!
I've returned it to factory settings, though any previous Google searches were still remembered. I've also cleared caches on the apps and I've switched off Wi-Fi optimization, as recommended on some websites,all to no avail!!
The slow speed of video play or even opening, for example, the BBC website is now tedious!!! Any suggestions?
