Are Desktop Pc`s Wireless

I have a desktop PC and a laptop,I know the latter is wireless but what about the PC?
At the moment it had an Ethernet cable running from my Virgin topbox..But can it work without.

I have been thinking of changing my broadband to BT and she said that it will work just from their router/hub,but this made me wonder if the PC has to be wireless enabled for it to do this.(I will not be moving to them after all )

.I want to move my tv etc to the other side of the room ,so cables have to be relocated,have got an Virgin engineer coming out at end of month so will be able to ask him regards to my PC.the person I spoke to at Virgin said that the new connections will be much simplier than my present ones,which are ridiculous...so many cables and messy.

Mine's not wirelss, we're with BT Broadband and there's a cable runs from the computer to the home hub. Works well, we're very pleased with the BT setup.

Depends on your PC. some are some arent. If not just get a wireless dongle!

so ... will still have to have a dratted cable running across my living room,it goes through a hole in the wall to the other room where my desktop is.

To avoid running a cable round your room from your hub to your PC you can use an "ethernet network adapter". You buy a pair of them, plug 1 into the mains near your hub and the other one into a socket near your PC. You then use an ethernet cable from the hub to adapter 1 and a second from adapter 2 to your PC.
I like my PC to be connected to my hub by a cable - my PC is upstairs and my hub is downstairs. I have an adapter in the hall and one by the PC and it solves the problem.
I bought mine from 7dayshop.com but they are readily available from Amazon etc.

judderman.do have a T-Mobilw dongle for use when I go someplace which has no WiFi,but can`t get onto Skype with it.

Just get the thing in you link. I have the same thing (different make) and it works perfect. Connects to you route wirelessly so no need for cables!!

Judderman is absolutely right - I gave you the other option in case you preferred to be cabled for security - I have an aversion to throwing passwords around wirelessly.

That's the one, Kloofnek. I actually bought 3 of them so that I can connect my smart TV to the internet. You can link any number of them together so, for example, you could have a networked printer somewhere in the house near to a mains socket and sent print to it.
