After finding success in my last post about opening docx files I am hoping you can help me with another problem please?
I did ask on here last week but couldn't resolve............
When playing YouTube videos the sound has suddenly gone strange, missing notes and stopping and starting. If a picture is playing with the music, their mouths are out of synch when singing to the words. Difficult to explain but maybe someone can help me - it is almost as if I have a loose connection on my speaker but I don't think it is that, the sound is driving me mad as nothing plays properly. Thanks in advance for your help :)
Firstly do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player installed if not download and install the latest after uninstalling the old one with the uninstall tool from Adobe. Now when you log on to You Tube have you signed in with your Google Account . If you have not signed in with your Google account you are only running the basic program but by signing in you unlock all of its features including HD sound.
if you're using windows 7 or whatever, go into control panel, go to programs>uninstall program, a list will come up of all programs on you PC find adobe and uninstall
Thanks ducksie - I did uninstall Adobe from there and re-install it last week. I thought Galeck meant an uninstaller tool especially for Adobe. I think I did everything Galeck suggested, last week but it is no different but I will try again, thanks! :)
If you pause the youtube clip and allow your pc to download it a bit more and then resume playback does it still happen?
Some youtube clips do have poor synchronising between audio and visual especially older clips. This is the fault of whoever uploaded it and not much you can do about them.
No its actually the sound, which is the worst problem SlackAlice, its jerky and misses words and keeps stopping and starting, exactly like the speakers are "shorting" or have a loose connection, but as I said my own music from downloaded CDs play fine so its not the speakers. Completely baffled!
Just tried a Youtube video again and its cleared a bit - just stuttered once or twice instead of all the time so perhaps ping youtube.com -n 10 has cleared it?
Thanks. x
While Methyl correctly indicates that it's always best to 'ping' the site you're having problems with (i.e. Youtube in this case) it might be worth running a ping test to a different server (simply because this way of doing it doesn't end up with results which disappear off the screen).
http://www.pingtest.net/
(Simply click on 'Begin test' and report the results here. The pretty graphics don't actually mean anything but the numbers at the end of the test do).
Thanks Chris, it is still the same I thought it was almost cured :(
I did the test you suggested - results here:
Packet Loss failed due to Java not installed or firewall blocking (I must check this)
Ping 39ms
Jitter 2ms
