I'm considering downloading this free software so that I can edit some music tracks I already have. Can anyone tell me how music is imported to Audacity ? Can I import tracks I've purchased from iTunes and can I import tracks from CD's I have ?
I want to be able to either shorten or extend tracks I have which I use for my dance club.

Assuming you have iTunes and Audacity on your PC/laptop, you just click on the 'file' menu top left and browse to whatever folder your mp3's/mp4's are in to open them. Personally, I always copy the original mp3 to a temporary folder and work with it from there, just in case you muck it up...at least you still have the original and can start again!

Many thanks - most helpful.
BTW. Also have a look at Reaper. It is full powered shareware.

It nags on startup after the trial expires but the licence cost is trivial and well worth it. If you really don't want to pay just download it again.
