I've been getting a strange warning type message on my laptop last few weeks, nothing sinister but I've never seen it before and wonder if someone recognises it from my description. It only happens on the net, usually AB but have seen it on other sites. When a page becomes unresponsive I get a white rectangle with words at top like 'pages are unresponsive' with a reference to the page I'm currently on. In the left of this box is what looks like a picture of a suitcase with a face on and two snowflakes above it to the left. I have the option to kill or wait. There is no branding on it at all so not sure where it's from. I use Chrome and Windows 7. Anyone throw any light?

It seems that, in an effort to make things prettier, Google are actually providing less information. (They must be trying to mimic Microsoft!). Chrome used to tell you clearly that it was responsible for generating those messages: http://tech.gaeatimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/chrome-browser-crash.png Now it's replaced the words...

Chrome used to tell you clearly that it was responsible for generating those messages:

Now it's replaced the words 'Google Chrome' with just the program's logo:

Well done Chris, it's that exactly. Without the logo it is more worrying for the uninformed.

PS obviously it's not a suitcase nor snowflakes but Gawd knows what it's meant to be.
Thanks for your reply (and the 'best answer') but they are snowflakes ;-)

The image appears to be trying to show that your computer has frozen. I'm not too sure about the 'suitcase'; it looks rather like a folder icon to me. But it's definitely wearing a scarf, and displaying chattering teeth, in the snow!

Blimey, that's a scarf? I didn't like to ask!
