Why Can´t I Download The Avg Anti-Virus Free Version?

I have tried 3 times, and failed 3 times, a pop up box says an error occurred.
any advice would be appreciated

Do you have, or have had, any Anti Virus programme installed in your computer/laptop ?. If so, have you ensured that it has been fully removed before trying to download AVG.

If there is an AV programme in your equipment it will assume, because of conflict, that you are attempting to download a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Programme ).

Hi beso...I shall avoid disagreeing with your comment but would be interested to know of the FREE Anti Virus programme which you consider is worthwhile.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials.

The big problem I had with AVG was its repeated jumping up in front of what I was doing to tell me that it had updated and I needed to restart. It would even do this when I wasn't connected to the Internet.

Then when I went to remove it it would not go. It ended up that I had to blow it away and delete the shrapnel manually.

Go to the AVG website and download their removal tool and run it. I wouldn't recommend using AVG as I find AVAST Free Antivirus is a far better program .
