If you're thinking of using an alternative charger (and you established that the connector is the same) you need to check whether AC or DC is required/supplied (although I'd be surprised if you actually found an AC device or charger). Then, assuming that it's DC, you need to check that the voltage is the same AND that the polarity is the same. Lastly you'd need to check that the current rating of the replacement charger is the same, or greater than, the current required to charge the device.
