I have been typing an email to a friend and wanted to do a word in Bold , but even though I have highlighted the word, it doesn't turn into Bold. Neither is the Italic function working. What have I done?

PS. The functions work OK when I do a Word Doc.

I think you need to highlight the word then click one of the 'B'(old); 'I'(talic); 'U'(nderline) buttons at the top of the screen (?)

Assuming you have been doing those without success, what are you using to create the email (website, email client, something else)?

Bear in mind that the recipient may receive your email in plain text format - which means all you bold, italics etc will just show as normal text.
